Now this is one beautiful work of art.
Made with lush havana brown leather with brass rivets and a handmade cocobolo handle, what says luxury luggage better than this. You could argue how much the bag would hold; it was designed to carry laptops, cameras and books, which is perfectly fine. But who says it can’t be put to even more glamorous use.
Structure is definitely beautiful.

Rock chic is a style I find incredibly attractive. From the simple, basic ways of wearing the look to the more complex, full regalia of studded jackets, spiked boots, leather pants, the very best of Balmain. Personal style wise, I’ll fall somewhere in the middle. I like the edgy yet feminine allure of the look.
Vogue Spain did a brilliant, quite artistic interpretation of this look in the November issue. The styling featured rock chic looks across the spectrum from intense to simple but it captured the essence of the style pretty well.
The models, Iselin Steiro and Toni Garrn rocked heavily sequinned jackets and pants, leather and blazers against a posh ‘musical’ background. Loved the role of electric guitars in the shoot. The brilliant photography was by David Vasiljevic and styling was done by Barbara Baumel.

I think it’s my love for structured bags in general that has me drooling over this season’s satchel bag. It’s a fresh, grown up bag and has different interpretations from designer to highstreet. The typical long strap feature makes it flexible so you can carry across the body; or ditch the strap and clutch the handle, ideal for corporate chic.

I love net-a-porter, not just for the absolutely gorgeous designer ware, but for great styling tips.
They just did a feature on Rick Owens pieces, with lots of beautiful styling. This one caught my eye, it gives a sophisticated, sleek chic take on your classic lbd. It was called ‘Urban Sophistication,’ which is so apt for this style.
The Rick Owens LBD was teamed with satin thigh high boots -by Stella McCartney- and a draped leather jacket by Rick Owens. The accessories – crystal drop earring by Isabel Marant and leather and silver metallic belt by Halston – completed the sleek, polished, city chic look.
Don’t forget that gorgeous chignon updo and the smokey eyes.

I was waiting for Haider Ackermann with bated breath and it was definitely well worth the wait. There was a quality about his collection that made me want to be silent and just stare. It was sleek, elegant, luxe and soooo polished.
I have to say though that some pieces in the collection were a tad too showy, like ‘hey, watch the slits Mister!.’ But having said that, the combination of silks and chiffon with leather, the luxe way he injected jewel tones – plush emerald, electric blue, red – into black, was amazing. And that bow detailing on the back of the jackets? Speechless! Gotta have one of those jackets.
Overall, he does an amazing work with details. I love how he works with fabrics, the intricate knotting, the unusual bows. Viva Haider Ackermann, you’re da man.

What better collection to kick off my Paris Fashion Week fantasy with if not Balmain? It goes without saying that I am a massive fan of this signature rocker chic label. And Christopher Decarnin delivered an excellent collection, taking inspiration from the American flag, with classic Balmain sequined jackets, leather pants and ripped, grungy t-shirts.
I especially love the infusion of red, and the American flag is pretty cool for inspiration. Difficult to pick faves, the entire collection was super but hey, for what it’s worth…

Absolutely nutters about YSL pumps. It’s not typical me to get one style or item in multiple colors but i would definitely get all YSL pumps ever made in every color. These shoes are collector’s items, love the shape, the heels, the vibrant colors, the different textures: patent, suede, nappa leather. The fact that they have hidden platforms also make them chic and easy to wear. Fantastic pumps, ode to fabulous pristine style!
